How To Prepare For Your Makeup Lesson

When you've booked your 1-2-1 makeup lesson, you might have a number of questions of what happens next so here's a blog post and a bit of a FAQ for you!

Clean your brushes. This blog post will give you all the information you need to know, with some handy discount codes too!

Don't buy anything new for your lesson - you'll get a full write up of the lesson with the products recommended to you, and discount codes. So don't buy anything yet! Wait til you've got the shelf of makeup products I personally recommend for you and your skin instead of getting something new right now. 

Bring all your makeup with you. The good, the bad, the ugly! We'll go through all of it, and my studio is a judgement free zone - there's no lights or sirens that will go off if something is really old or in battered packaging. It all helps me to work out what you're used to using, what you've got experience in, and also what kind of colours you tend to gravitate towards. If there's anything that needs to live in the makeup bag in the sky, we can decide that together in your lesson. 

Arrive as clean faced as you can. You're going to be applying makeup during your lesson with me (and leaving with a full face of makeup) so don't take up your precious time with me taking off your makeup. If you want to show me how you'd usually do your makeup, just take some photos for me in daylight.

As you're going to be leaving with a full face of makeup, half applied by me and the other half copied by you under my expert guidance, make sure you make plans for after the lesson. You might as well go for dinner or some drinks, so make an occasion of it! Plan dinner out, grab your partner or some of your besties! We all need more occasions for joy, and why not make the most of a gorgeous face of makeup!

Accessibility: My studio is based on the first floor, up fourteen steps, and so is not wheelchair accessible. 

To book a 1-2-1 lesson for a specific date, email me in advance. I no longer accept cash payments. All appointments must be paid for in advance. Payment plans are available, just email me to discuss in advance. Lessons are not available on weekends due to wedding bookings. Payments made are not refundable. If you cancel within 48 hours of the appointment, your payment is forfeit.
