Wearing glasses and wearing makeup

Please let me release you from one of your wedding day worries; if you wear glasses, then your frames belong with you at the end of the aisle.

Your wedding day is not a performance. It’s not a styled shoot. It’s not about becoming a different version of yourself for the sake of tradition or trends. It’s about you—the real you—walking toward the person who loves you EXACTLY as you are, and f you wear glasses every day, that’s part of who you are!

One of the most important things about your wedding day is that when you look back at your photos—next week, next year, or decades from now—you recognize the person in them. I want your partner to recognise you when you get to the end of the aisle too! They love you for you, with your glasses and you're going to want to see ALL the amazing bits of your wedding that you've put together.

Don't be uncomfortable for the sake of a photo! You've already poured your heart into planning this day; your outfit, your flowers, your makeup (hopefully booked with me!) and your hair. You want to be able to see it all clearly, including the looks of love and adoration from all the people who love you the most! No squinting. No headaches. No worrying about contacts you never wear, or feel uncomfortable in. 

From a makeup perspective, your face will still glow. Your eyes will still sparkle. Your features will be beautifully visable, and you'll photograph bloody wonderfully. Wearing your glasses won't take anything away from your face or your wedding look; they'll frame it, literally! And when you feel confident and comfortable, that confidence shows through everything.

This blog comes with love from a fellow glasses wearer - but also a wedding makeup expert with 15+ years of experience, and who understands teh pressure that wedding clients can feel to “get everything right.” Trust me: you don’t need to erase any part of yourself to be beautiful on your wedding day. You are already gorgeous as you are.
