When clients get in touch about booking me for wedding makeup, I'm often asked what's in my makeup kit and what products I use. Once you've come to my studio in Hockley in the city centre of Nottingham, you'll soon see the extent of my kit!
It's all been tried and tested and is packed full of high-end makeup products and some seriously tasty high street brands that pack a punch. I'm not sponsored by or have any commission from brands so anything I recommend is because I genuinely use it.
While I'll try all different types of makeup, I'm proud to offer an entirely cruelty-free makeup kit, and on request can do an entirely vegan makeup kit. I'm proud to use cruelty-free products and recommend them to my clients exclusively; there's really no need for animal testing in 2020, and I won't promote brands that do.
The brand I have most in my kit though is Illamasqua. Their Skinbase foundations are so lightweight but buildable and make you look like you've got real skin instead of a layer of product. I want my clients to look like they've got great skin, which is why I use great products and will offer you skincare advise that won't break the bank or be tricky to follow.
In my kit, you'll find:
Illamasqua
Hourglass
Tarte Cosmetics
Urban Decay
Morphe
NYX
Soap and Glory
E.L.F Cosmetics
The Body Shop
First Aid Beauty
Nip & Fab
If you want to know more about what I use or why I use it, book yourself in for a 1-2-1 makeup lesson with me. It's a two hour tutorial with me in person where we go through your makeup kit and talk about everything makeup; products, brushes, cleaning brushes, application tips, colours, brands, trends - you name it, I'll answer it honestly!
Included is a full write up of the lesson, going over each product we've used and how to apply it. I'll remind you of the products I've recommended, and any amendments to your application skills. I'll recommend you brushes to use, and how to clean said brushes. While you might forget what's in our initial one-to-one tutorial, you'll always have the written write up to jog your memory.
Book your makeup tutorial with me here. A voucher lasts you 12 months from the date you buy it, and I'll post you a voucher as a keepsake if you're planning to give the lesson to someone as a gift.
Even if you're not, it's a nice keepsake to keep on your fridge or on your dressing table!
