Wedding Make Up Interview with: Abby

Abby and Jamie married at The Renaissance at Kelham Hall on 7 June 2025. I'd met Abby back in 2021 when her bestie Kirstie got married, and we'd stayed in touch on Instagram ever since. Sometimes you just meet people and INSTANTLY get on and have simliar sense of humor - that was me and Abby! When her and Jamie got engaged (finally, ha!) she came to me straight away to lock me in for her wedding makeup. What a babe! When did you get engaged, and when did you get married? How long did it take to plan your wedding?

We got engaged on holiday in Jamaica on the 7th July 2023. We had just under 2 years to plan the wedding which at the time seemed like loads of time, but in reality I could have probably done with longer!

What suppliers did you book first? Feel free to sing their praises!

Hair and make up were first. I knew before getting engaged that I wanted Sali to do my make up after having her do it when I was maid of honour for my friend. Moira Borg was my hairstylist and she was fantastic!

How did you find me to book me? e.g. Google, social media, recommendation etc. 

Met at a previous wedding, followed on social media ever since

Why did you book me? Did you consider doing your own makeup?

I enjoy doing my own make up, but who doesn’t want to get pampered especially on their wedding day! There was no doubt in my mind that you were the one for me! After the fantastic job you did previously, I was so pleased you were available for mine!

How did you find your trial makeup appointment with me?

It was fun, easy going and informative. You listened to what I wanted and gave me skincare advice which was ideal! You did my make up exactly how I asked and we had fun in the process!

Would you have changed anything about your wedding makeup?

Absolutely not a thing! I’ve never felt prettier!

Any advice for someone else getting married?

Embrace every second of the day and the lead up to it! Before you know it, it’s all over and you’ve missed out on enjoying the build up because you’ve spent too much time worrying about the small things. Details which your guests won’t even notice. Don’t sweat the small stuff!

Sali did my make up for my wedding a couple of weeks ago and I couldn’t have been happier. She is the nicest, most caring and supportive person you could ever meet. Her skills are unmatched, my bridesmaids all looked stunning too thanks to Sali. She is a make up artist, best friend, drink refiller, dress doer upper and legend all in one. Can’t recommend her enough! 🤍
