Wedding Make Up Interview with: Deanna
Deanna and Will married at Ringwood Hall in Chesterfield in May 2025. She booked me in May 2024, which is just the perfect time to get your wedding make up booked in - at least 12 months or more notice is the best! We booked in her trial in March 2025 and she booked to see her hairstylist, the gorgeous Amie from Mon Amie just after. Booking your trial with your hair and makeup artist on the same day is a great idea for you to work out how you're going to look on the big day - also, two birds one stone of being pampered and you can arrange to go for dinner and/or drinks after - BONUS!
When did you get engaged, and when did you get married? How long did it take to plan your wedding?
Engaged in 2022, and married in 2025! We planned from 2023, so two years all in all!
What suppliers did you book first? Feel free to sing their praises!
We first booked Ringwood, our venue, and then our photographer, Anna, from Pear and Bear.
How did you find me to book me? e.g. Google, social media, recommendation etc.
Anna had a ‘Suppliers I love working with’ part of her website, and I found you listed there.
Why did you book me? Did you consider doing your own makeup?
I clicked on your Instagram and watched your Reels and saw how happy (and amazing!) your brides looked. I loved how inclusive your brand is, and how your style was somewhere between ‘no makeup makeup’ and ‘full glam’. I would have never done my own makeup in a million years, but I couldn’t have been more thrilled to have found you as my makeup artist!
How did you find your trial makeup appointment with me?
The trial was perfect - you were friendly, made me comfortable (and laugh!), and gave me great tips on making my wedding makeup last. I used your discount codes to buy skincare you recommended, and you let me change things to feel more like me whenever I asked. I literally spent the rest of my trial day raving about you!
Would you have changed anything about your wedding makeup?
Not a thing! And my bridal party all felt the same way - including my Mum, who, by her own admission, didn’t know what she wanted, or how to make her slightly maturer skin look good. My wedding makeup was that of dreams - I felt incredible all day, and it didn’t move an inch. I was in my makeup for 15 hours and it looked the same by the end of the night!
Any advice for someone else getting married?
Remember to top up your lipstick before portraits (I forgot this but no biggy!) and definitely have a trial before the wedding. I’d even recommend wearing white to the trial because I had no worries about how my makeup would look with my dress at all on the day because I knew Sali would work her magic!
"Sali (Ms Moo) is the wedding equivalent of an angel - not only is she the loveliest, but she is a true artist. Right from reaching out to her by email, all the way up to walking down the aisle, Sali’s support was second to none. She kept me calm all morning, helped me into my dress, had a laugh with my whole bridal party, and put everyone at ease. She was an absolute trooper and even showed up when she was unwell (and wore a mask to keep us all safe and healthy). I spent all day being complimented on my makeup, and I couldn’t be more excited to tell them all about the lovely Sali that did my makeup. I’ve recommended Sali to a few friends that are recently engaged, and would do so to anyone getting married! My makeup literally didn’t move an inch, for the 15 hours I was in it! Not only is Sali a fantastic MUA, but she is also a completely safe and inclusive space, which was super important for me, and makes me feel confident in recommending her to anyone at all! Thank you Sali for being the best! I’ll be booking in for a 1-2-1 makeup lesson in the near future!"
