My Favourite False Eyelashes

Categories: Products

The variety in false eyelashes these days is overwhelming, as there are so many types and styles, so it can really come down to personal preference and individual needs as to what's best.

Like, where do you start? Here's a little breakdown for you.

Strip lashes - my personal favourites. These stay on better, as they hold to your lash line better, and I argue that they are more comfortable and easier to get used to. They can also be reused - when it comes to taking your lashes off, pop them around the side of a deodorant can or cylindrical foundation bottle, and you can reuse them as long as you clean them gently with some micellar water.

Individual lashes - applied one by one to your individual lashes, these can look natural, but are super fiddly and they will look odd when one falls off.

Cluster lashes - groups of individual lashes glued together at the base and applied to several natural lashes at once. Easier to apply than individuals, but quite difficult to apply yourself as you have to gauge where on your eye line to place them.

Magnetic lashes - these have got better over the years, as they used to be quite heavy, but some are now super light as they attach with a magnetic eyeliner. The eyeliner can be quite thick though, so apply it carefully!

Half lashes - still have a good amount of length, but are shorter in length along the lash line. Often called three-quarter lashes, they fit over the outer 3/4 of your eyelash line. Often a more natural choice.

DIY lash extensions - these come in a range of styles (and prices), but they are semi-permanent and often applied by a specific lash technician. You can get DIY lash extension kits to apply at home though!

Here are some of my favourites and why.

Eylure - 3/4 length in 008

Super sultry and fluttery eyelashes, these Eylure 3/4 lashes are fab for adding drama to your eye without the full wispie look. They are very comfortable, even for those not used to wearing lashes. Perfect for a bride or bridesmaid!

Ardell - Babies

I love these as they look super natural. Great for people with not a lot of lash, or just wanting to add a little length. They are gently fanned out, so they are great for regular use or special occasions. They are the lightest lashes, and practically weightless! Perfect for all-day wear.

Ardell - Naturals in 110

My favourites for wanting to have the best natural lashes of your life. I go through these packets like you wouldn't believe! If you’ve got it, show it! These accentuate and enhance your natural lashes without any overwhelming thickness or weight. They honestly look like your lashes, but better!

Ardell - Demi Wispies

These signature Demi Wispies have been around for ages, and there's a reason they are a cult lash style. They look STUNNING. They have a narrow band still, but don't hold back on volume. The lashes have a bit of a crisscross pattern for medium volume, and a lovely curl to the end. They are perfect for giving your eyes extra oomph and drawing attention to them.

Ardell - Naked Lashes in 424

These flurry lashes add a super subtle volume and length, but certainly look more fake. They widen your eyes a little, without being overly dramatic - fab for a night out or day drinking, they are comfy AF.

Remember, whatever lashes you choose on your wedding day, I'll always recommend what I think is best. And you'll never have to pay extra for them! If someone is having their makeup done by me, you can have lashes for no extra charge.
