Award-Winning & Cruelty-Free Make Up Artist

Hey! I'm Sali Jones, aka Ms Moo Make Up. I'm a multi award-winning cruelty-free freelance professional make-up artist with over 13 years of experience. I'm based in Nottingham, but I'm happy to travel across the UK to wherever you need me, though the majority of my work is based in Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire.

Here you will find information about how to book me for your wedding make-upa one-to-one makeup lesson or a special occasion makeover. You'll see all the fashion and editorial photoshoots I've been involved with, some behind-the-scenes photos and updates on my blog. Whatever your makeup needs, I can help.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Non Make Up Items In My Kit

The most used things in my makeup kit are often not items of makeup, or even skincare. Here's a little run down of all the bits and pieces I keep in my travelling makeup kit for a wedding day. You never know when something might come in handy!

Embroidery Scissors - From cutting the tag off a veil or those loops inside a dress that help secure it to a hanger - small scissors are always handy to have in your kit. The smaller the better then they aren't too big to carry!

No Crease Hair Clips - The makeup artists best friend, keeping hairdressers happy everywhere! They are flat so will keep hair back off the face without creating any marks in the hair. Top tip! If there is face framing hair around the sides of the face that's curled, you can use a tissue in the clip to protect the hair from setting spray which can make curls drop.

Eye Masks - I include these in my wedding makeup packs and tell the bride to use them the morning after their wedding when they are feeling a bit bleary! That said, if I'm at a wedding super early and have a large wedding party to get ready, I'll suggest the bride pops them on before I do their makeup. Who knows the science behind them; not me! But they make your eyes feel nice and rejuvinated, and that's a win in my experience.

Portable neck fan - This is more for me than any of my makeup clients, but I've shared it about before when it's been a mega warm day! It's a USB chargable neck fan that has a couple of different settings, blowing air up at you to keep you cooler. The battery power on it is really quite good and has kept going for quite a few hours on jobs, or when driving long distances.

Travel sewing kit - New to my kit for this year, I think this is going to be super useful! For putting buttons back on, for sewing people into dresses, for popping a stitch in a hem that needed it. A sewing kit is super handy for wedding days! Mine has multiple colours of thread too.

Selfie light - Perfect for dark mornings or rooms with warm light, this little selfie light has three different light settings. Good to holding up to someone's face to check their foundation is the right shade, or to pop on your phone when you want to take a photo of someone. Again it's USB rechargable, so great to keep in your kit all year around.

Hand held fan - Old school fan for hand use, but super useful to be passed around on a wedding morning. I've previously used them to fan clients after spraying them with setting spray too! Keeping a few in your bag is a great idea. I gave a few brides a fan last summer when we had particularly hot days.

Glass nail file - A glass nail file is much easier to clean with ispropanol, so I'd much rather one of these than an old school cardboard file.

Safety pins - These get restocked the most in my wedding kit! Everyone loves a safety pin, if it's pinning a strap up or securing a buttonhole in place when it's particularly heavy. I've also helped pin together dresses to stop them gaping at the chest.

Other things in my kit that I regularly have; snacks, sunscreen, tweezers, tissues, cotton buds, eyelash glue, mints/chewing gum, pain killers, anti bacterial, Vaseline (foot lube!), plasters... you name it, I've probably got it!
